FAQ

CAN I SAVE MONEY BY BATHING MY DOG MYSELF?

No, it is actually more difficult for me to groom your pet without bathing it, as the hair will not be clean and fluffed while I clip it. I use high-end products and equipment to get the cleanest coat possible, which makes cutting your dog's hair much easier. I can achieve much greater results if we bathe your pet as well.

If you feel the need to bathe your dog, I might not be the right service for you.

CAN I SCHEDULE REACCURING APPOINTMENTS?

Yes! When you book your appointment, you will be asked what schedule you would like to be placed on (1-, 2-, 4-, 6- week) and that may indicate which days are available to service your area. After your first appointment, if you are happy with my services, I will book out your future appointments.

CAN I STAY WITH MY DOG WHILE HE/SHE IS BEING GROOMED?

No generally speaking, most pets behave better and are less anxious when their owners are not present. For insurance purposes and because I value the safety of our clients and their pets, nobody other than the groomer and the pet are to be in the trailer during the grooming process. If you would like to take a look at my trailer before or after grooming, you are more than welcome to do so.

DO YOU GIVE DISCOUNTS?

I am a small business with only me grooming and running the show. This is not just a hobby for me, it is 100% a full-time career and how I support myself and my family. I strive for excellence and am constantly advancing in my career and my skills. If I gave discounts, I would never be profitable. This is also same for multiple dog households, no discounts. Thank you for understanding.

DO YOU GROOM CATS?

I am a 100% dog grooming business. I have groomed cats in the past, but it is just not my thing. I love dogs! I feel that I can easily read dogs and their energy, and cats just aren't the same for me. Every groomer has things they love, and dogs are just my favorite!

DO YOU GROOM ELDERLY DOGS?

Absolutely! I have the experience and know-how to groom older dogs. I take things like breed tendencies, joint and hip fatigue, or even if the noises are causing discomfort.

If at any time during grooming I feel the service has become too stressful or unsafe for your pet, I will stop immediately!

DO YOU NEED TO HOOK UP TO MY HOUSE FOR WATER OR ELECTRICITY?

Nope! My trailer is fully self-contained. I run off a generator and have water storage. I just need a place to park!

DO YOU OFFER LATCHKEY SERVICES?

Yes! I offer latchkey service if you are not able to be home for your pet’s grooming. This is available after the first initial appointment of meeting and grooming your pet. A credit card must be on file for ALL latchkey clients in the event you forget to leave payment, or a cancellation fee applies to your appointment. Pets must be in an easily accessible area, and all bedroom doors must be closed. A key or code must be left with me.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY DOG BE GROOMED?

Depending upon the breed, it is recommended that your pet be groomed every 4-6 weeks. Some breeds may need to be groomed more often. I offer 1-,2-,4-, and 6- week appointments. This ensures all dogs are on a good maintenance plan and I can build a trusting relationship with your pup. Dogs with skin issues should be seen 1-2 weeks, dogs needing haircuts should be seen every 4-6 weeks. Or your pet can be placed on a 2- week schedule that alternates between a bath and haircut.

HOW OLD DOES MY PUPPY NEED TO BE TO RECEIVE SERVICES?

It is very important to start your pup off with grooming as soon as possible. I highly recommend that your pup have their first two sets of shots and be at least 8 weeks of age. I will introduce your pup to grooming in a one-on-one stress-free environment away from the hustle and bustle and loudness of a brick-and-mortar grooming salon. The first time your puppy comes into the van is for a Signature Bath or a Signature Bath and Tidy. This is to get them used to grooming, something that they will need for the rest of their lives. It's crucial that they have a good experience. Usually, you want to wait till 7-8 months to do a Signature Haircut, as long as the dog has been receiving other services and is mat free.

DO YOU REQUIRE VACCINATIONS?

It is Texas state law that your dog be vaccinated for at least their Rabies shot. Although I strongly advise that your pup has all of their shots: Parvo, Distemper, Bordetella, and Rabies.

Texas Health and Safety Code Section 826.021 - Vaccination of Dogs and Cats Required (public.law)

HOW SOON WILL I HEAR BACK WHEN BOOKING MY APPOINTMENT?

Since I am a small business and not a corporation with a receptionist, it may take up to 24 hours to respond for an appointment. Typically, I won't respond after our business hours. I will try and respond to requests during down times during the day or earlier in the morning. I also don't want to interrupt our clients' appointments. Don't worry, we will get back to you!

I DON'T WANT MY DOG ON A SET SCHEDULE, CAN'T I JUST BOOK WHENEVER?

So Fetch! Mobile Dog Grooming might not be the mobile groomer for you and that's fine. I need to keep a tight schedule. To ensure my routes are as optimized as possible with the rising costs of gas.

I'M NOT HAPPY WITH MY SERVICE, CAN I GET A REFUND?

I don't give refunds. It's very important to communicate with your groomer what you're wanting in your dog's service. You have 48 hours to contact me to have a problem fixed. After 48 hours I will try again next time. I want you to be happy with the services you paid for.

I NEED TO CANCEL MY APPOINTMENT WHAT DO I DO?

I understand things happen. But this isn't like a salon that can immediately fill your spot, so I ask for at least 48-hour notice that you or your pet won't be available for your appointment. 48 hours will waive the cancellation fee. Less than 48 hours will require 50% of the groom fee. Same-day cancellations must be paid in FULL. No-call no-show fee is 100% of the appointment fee or you will not be rebooked.

MY DOG COMES TO WORK WITH ME, CAN YOU GROOM HIM/HER AT MY OFFICE?

Sure! As long as there is room for me to park safely, it's not outside my service area, and you have permission for me to be there, I can work anywhere!

MY DOG IS MATTED, WILL YOU SHAVE MY DOG?

YES!! I believe in humanity over vanity!

I will not put a dog through the process of de-matting. If you are not able to maintain the coat at the length you desire, we will need to take the length down to a more manageable length.

Mats that are present will need to be shaved and will incur additional charges. Shaving a matted pet can dramatically alter your pet’s appearance as well as behavior. Shaving matted pets is the safest option as de-matting can be traumatic and painful for your pet. This procedure can expose pre-existing health or skin conditions for which So Fetch! Mobile Dog Grooming cannot be held liable for cuts, nicks, skin irritation, or hematomas due to matting.

MY FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER IS VISITING, CAN YOU SQUEEZE IN THEIR DOG WITH MINE?

Most likely no. I have a set schedule each day. Unless I have some availability in the next hour, I won't be able to.

WHY ARE YOUR PRICES SO MUCH MORE THAN A SALON?

Mobile grooming is a luxury service and is by no means comparable to salon grooming. There is the convenience of me coming to you; one-on-one attention and treatment; no car rides; cages; barking dogs; leaving your dog for hours. Whereas a groomer at a shop can do 8–15 dogs a day, I can only do 4-6. My price includes mobile van payment, gas, insurance, taxes, my salary, advertising, supplies, and emergency repairs.

WHAT IF MY DOG HAS FLEAS/TICKS?

Dogs with more than three live fleas will be given a mandatory flea bath with a $25 charge depending on the dog’s size.

Any ticks found will result in a $10 charge for the first three ticks plus $1 for each additional tick found. Please make sure your dog has been on preventative and house treated for at least 1-2 weeks prior to the grooming appointment.

**If fleas are found present, we must cancel the rest of our appointments to thoroughly fog, clean, and sanitize our vehicles, as fleas are extremely hard to eradicate and can be transferred to other pets.

WHAT SAFETY MEASURES DO YOU HAVE IN PLACE?

My trailer carries a fire extinguisher, a carbon monoxide detector, and a pet first aid kit to make sure your dogs and I are safe.

WHY DOES IT SAY TEXT ONLY BY YOUR PHONE NUMBER?

Because it's just me, I need to be able to go back and look at conversations we had together, to remember important information you or I said to one another. And it gives us the availability to talk to one another when it might not be the best time for a phone call.

WILL YOU MUZZLE MY DOG?

I will not. I don't carry muzzles in my trailer. If your dog needs a muzzle to continue the groom, your dog is too stressed, and I will not continue the groom. Although your dog is my top priority, I will not groom under the stress of being potentially bit by your dog. At that point, a vet groomer would be a better fit.
